Uplifting Mt. Sinai’s founding constituency

The Mt. Sinai Health Foundation seeks to support efforts to improve the physical and mental health of Mt. Sinai's founding constituency. The Foundation will collaborate with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and with other Jewish agencies and organizations on health issues of concern to the Jewish community.

The Foundation will support projects that build organizational capacity in those Jewish organizations that address these needs. Foundation-initiated special projects in this area may also be developed.

Bikur Cholim Cleveland

Bikur Cholim of Cleveland is dedicated to serving all members of the Jewish community by providing assistance to those experiencing health-related challenges. It helps young and old by offering comfort, shelter, and support through a variety of services including a visitation and kosher hot meal program as well as educational and recreational activities. The Mt. Sinai Health Foundation has supported Bikur Cholim and its various programs as part of its earliest grantmaking activities, making an initial grant in 1997.

Cleveland Hillel Summer Internship Program

The Hillel Summer Internship Program (SIP) provides a 10-week, 5-workday internship to Jewish undergraduates with Cleveland roots. SIP places these talented college students in a range of challenging paid internships in a wide variety of industries, offers them networking opportunities, educates and excites them about the Cleveland area, and strengthens their ties with the Jewish Community. Since 2009, a grant from Mt. Sinai has supported the placement of students in non-profit health and human service internships.

Jewish Federation of Cleveland

Mt. Sinai supports efforts that improve the physical and mental health of the Jewish Community, its founding constituency. The Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland often collaborate to achieve this objective. Mt. Sinai is among the largest donors to the Federation's annual Campaign for Jewish Needs, where Mt. Sinai grant funds are used for health-related services.

Naaleh Cleveland

Founded in 2014 to better connect Cleveland’s Jewish community with mental health services, Naaleh Cleveland credits the Mt. Sinai Health Foundation as a key supporter of the organization and its mission. Mt. Sinai allowed Naaleh to establish a local, culturally-sensitive clinic that accepts third-party insurance and Medicaid, a model that creates long-term sustainability.
