Please contact a Mt. Sinai Program Officer prior submitting a grant request.

This helps focus requests and avoid time and effort expended on ideas and projects that might be outside the Foundation's grantmaking guidelines.

Please follow the steps on this page to submit your application.
FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS

Step 1

Register for an account through the Mt. Sinai Grant Application portal by clicking “Create New Account”. If you have applied for grant funding from Mt. Sinai in the past, it is likely that you already have an account in our system – please do not create a new account

Step 2

Once registered and logged on, click the “Apply” button on the top of the portal

Step 3

After you’ve applied, you can check your grant status, submit necessary follow-up forms, edit organization information, and review past Mt. Sinai grants when applicable

If you need assistance creating an account or accessing an existing account please contact Mt. Sinai staff at grants@mtsinaifoundation.org.

If you have applied for grant funding from Mt. Sinai in the past, it is likely that you already have an account in our system. Please do not create a new account.

Step 1

Open the Mt. Sinai Grant Application portal and log-in to your existing account with your email address and password. If you created an account and cannot remember your password, please click the “Forgot Your Password” button to reset it. If this is the first time you are completing a Mt. Sinai grant application for your organization please register your email with your organizational account by contacting grants@mtsinaifoundation.org.

Step 2

Once logged on, click the “Apply” button on the top of the portal to complete the grant application.

Step 3

Once you’ve created an account, you can check your grant status, submit necessary follow-up forms, edit organization information, and review past Mt. Sinai grants when applicable .

Information for applicants

The Foundation receives many more deserving requests than it can possibly fund. Funding priority will be given to those proposals that fit the Foundation’s guidelines and demonstrate the most potential according to the following criteria:
Evidence of sound design, appropriate budget, well-qualified staff, and a strong implementation plan.
Clear articulation of plans for continued support of the project beyond the term of a Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation grant, e.g., earned income, long-term philanthropic support (endowment), support from an organization’s core budget, or other means, when applicable.
Clear description of measurable outcomes and how they will be achieved.

Potential opportunities for working with other organizations to
address issues of common concern specific to the proposed
project, when applicable.

Potential for the Foundation’s investment to leverage additional resources for support of the project, when applicable. Demonstration of solid fiscal and management practices and governing board oversight.
Demonstrated board commitment, leadership, engagement, and financial support.

Upcoming grant application deadlines

The Foundation Board of Directors makes considers grant recommendations from staff on a quarterly basis.

Upcoming grant application deadlines are as follows.

January 3, 2025

April 1, 2025

July 1, 2025

October 1, 2025

With the exception of the January grant cycle, most deadlines fall on the first day of the month each quarter. When deadlines occur on a weekend or holiday, grant proposals will be due on the first business day thereafter.
The Foundation will acknowledge receipt of your proposal within two weeks following the most recent deadline and will advise you if any additional information is needed.
